SLOW COSMETICS, COSMETICS THAT MAKE SENSE

 The Slow Cosmetics  association

Created in 2012 by the Belgian aromatherapist and cosmetologist Julien Kaibeck, slow cosmetics is a committed Association which advocates a new sensible cosmetics which is based on 4 pillars:

  • Smart cosmetics

Far from the codes of conventional cosmetics, slow cosmetics meets the real needs of the skin (cleansing, hydration and protection) thanks to products designed with truly beneficial and effective ingredients. No more inert, inactive, unnecessarily processed or harmful to health ingredients; slow cosmetics gives pride of place to natural and active materials (organic oils, etc.).

  • Reasonable cosmetics

In slow cosmetics, we fight against the pitfalls of marketing: we do not encourage overconsumption of products and we do not overpromise! On the contrary, we avoid creating new needs for the skin and we reduce as much as possible the products and procedures necessary for healthy skin.

  • Ecological cosmetics

Slow cosmetics defends cosmetic products developed and used with respect for the environment with natural and organic ingredients that are as minimally processed as possible, preferably from local sources. Those coming from synthetic chemistry or from animal exploitation causing death, as well as ingredients potentially polluting the environment are not welcome, or even banned altogether!

  • Human cosmetics

The values of slow cosmetics are global, the human aspect is taken into account with respect for the consumer in all its forms. We must explain to him as much as possible the benefits of the active ingredients used and not offer him toxic products. Advertisements must not be retouched so as not to mislead the consumer and products must be sold at a fair and reasonable price.
To support consumers in their beauty ritual, slow cosmetics provides extensive advice via its eponymous site where it encourages home-made cosmetics and defends the winning brands with the slow cosmetics designation that can be found on a marketplace. What is
the Slow Cosmetics Mention ?
The Association today rewards and supports 148 cosmetic brands which meet the Association's charter via quality, healthier and more ecological products, through the Slow Cosmetics label . These winning brands are awarded 1 to 3 stars according to a rating system similar to that of the Michelin guide.

“It is not enough for a cosmetic to be organic to change the world, the company offering it must be committed or innovate in the right direction! » At Quintesens , we have our favorite little brand: Les Happycuriennes With its concept of minimalist cosmetics, Les Happycuriennes is a joyful brand of organic and vegan skincare which is part of the philosophy of slow cosmetics: it has also received the mention with 2 stars out of 3. Why? We'll explain it to you. Les Happycuriennes offers a vision of natural, caring and positive beauty carried by its co-creative community of more than 700 women, a world first !

Les Happycuriennes is based on a very minimalist and ultra-quality beauty ritual with a short line of 4 premium “3 in 1” treatments (face, eye contour, morning and/or evening) adapted to different skin types and conditions, which satisfy 100% of daily needs: La Joyeuse for normal to combination skin, L'Optimiste for dry to sensitive skin, L'Audacieuse for tired and stressed skin and La Re-belle, slow-aging serum for first wrinkles on skin mature.
For specific needs, the treatments can be used in pairs (one in the morning to be complemented by another in the evening) but the founder advises against superimposing treatments on the principle of slow cosmetics. They are so concentrated in active ingredients that a single dose is enough for application!
Truly made in France, the products are “cold formulated” so as not to distort the cocktail of active ingredients from 5 plants harvested in the South-West. Les Happycuriennes benefits from an advanced eco-socio-design, supported by ADEME, with a pioneering “zero waste” approach via the collection and recycling of its empty bottles.
